Return and Refund Policy

RETURN & REFUND POLICY

Platform Bangladesh Foundation

Effective Date: 22 September 2026

Last Updated: 22 September 2026

Platform Bangladesh Foundation is grateful to every individual, organisation, and supporter who contributes to our work. Donations made through the website help support our charitable, social, environmental, educational, development, and community-focused activities.

1. General Donation Policy

Donations are voluntary contributions and are generally considered final once successfully processed. However, refund requests may be reviewed in the circumstances described in this policy.

2. Circumstances Where a Refund May Be Considered

Duplicate Transaction

The same donation was unintentionally submitted more than once.

Incorrect Donation Amount

A donor accidentally entered an incorrect amount, for example BDT 50,000 instead of BDT 5,000.

Unauthorised Transaction

A donation appears to have been made using a payment instrument without the donor's permission.

Fraudulent Transaction

A transaction appears to have resulted from fraud, identity theft, or other unauthorised activity.

Incorrect Allocation

A donation intended for a particular campaign, project, or programme was incorrectly allocated. Where reasonably possible, the Foundation may first correct the allocation according to the donor's original intention.

Cancelled Event or Campaign

A donation was specifically made for an event or campaign that was subsequently cancelled and the donor does not wish the contribution to be redirected to a substantially similar charitable purpose.

Exceptional Circumstances

Other exceptional refund requests may be considered case-by-case.

Approval of a refund is not automatic and depends on the individual circumstances and any applicable legal, financial, payment-gateway, or organisational requirements.

3. Refund Request Period

Refund requests should normally be submitted within 7 to 10 days of the donation transaction date. Requests submitted later may still be reviewed where there are exceptional circumstances, fraud, unauthorised transactions, or other matters requiring investigation.

4. How to Request a Refund

Email: rashidur.platform@gmail.com

Subject: “Donation Refund Request”

·      Donor's full name

·      Email address

·      Date of transaction

·      Donation amount

·      Transaction ID/reference, where available

·      Payment method, where relevant

·      Reason for requesting the refund

·      Supporting information that may help investigate the transaction

For security reasons, do not send your full card number, CVV/security code, PIN, password, or other sensitive payment credentials by email.

5. Review of Refund Requests

The Foundation may review the transaction record, payment gateway information, donation details, circumstances described in the request, and supporting information. The donor may be contacted if additional information is required.

6. Refund Processing Timeline

Once a refund has been approved, Platform Bangladesh Foundation will normally initiate the refund within 7–10 working days. The time for the refunded amount to appear in the donor's account may vary depending on the bank, card issuer, mobile financial service provider, or payment gateway.

Refunds will normally be made to the original payment method used for the transaction.

7. Payment Gateway and Bank Processing

Online donations may be processed through SSLCommerz or another authorised payment service provider. After an approved refund is initiated, additional processing time may be required by the payment gateway, bank, card issuer, or financial institution. The Foundation cannot control the internal processing time of external financial institutions.

8. Donations That May Not Be Refundable

·      Funds have already been lawfully allocated or used for the stated charitable purpose.

·      The donation has already been transferred or committed to a specific project or programme.

·      The contribution is an in-kind donation.

·      The contribution involved goods, services, tickets, or another benefit already provided.

·      Applicable law or payment-provider rules prevent reversal.

·      The request does not provide sufficient information to verify the transaction.

Where appropriate, the Foundation may offer to redirect a donation to another suitable charitable purpose rather than issue a refund.

9. Unauthorised or Fraudulent Transactions

If you believe a payment instrument has been used without authorisation, contact the Foundation immediately and also contact your bank, card issuer, or relevant payment provider promptly. The Foundation may request information necessary to investigate the transaction.

10. No Physical Returns

As donations are contributions rather than physical goods, the Foundation does not generally operate a physical product return process. If the website is used for a separate purchase of goods, services, event tickets, or other products, applicable return terms will be stated separately.

11. Policy Amendments

The Foundation may update this policy to reflect changes in operations, payment arrangements, legal requirements, or organisational practices. Updated versions will be published on the website and take effect from the stated date.
