Applying for a position at Platform Bangladesh involves several selection stages, including a preliminary interview, a written assessment, and a panel interview. This process may take four to eight weeks. Stages specific to each position are communicated to shortlisted applicants.
Accessibility
During the recruitment process, when job applicants are individually selected to participate in an assessment or selection process, they are notified that accommodations are available upon request. Position Summary
Platform Bangladesh is looking for a Photo & Video Journalist to visually document the organization's work on the ground, capturing the realities and resilience of communities we serve. This role is central to our communications and advocacy efforts, with the goal of amplifying the voices of the underserved through visual storytelling.
The Photo & Video Journalist will work closely with the Communications, Programs, and Fundraising teams to produce high-quality photo and video content for digital platforms, campaigns, reports, and media distribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to project locations across Bangladesh to document activities, interviews, and field missions.
- Capture impactful, ethical, and high-quality photography and video that represent the mission and values of Platform Bangladesh.
- Edit and deliver compelling short films, reels, and multimedia packages for web and social media use.
- Ensure all images and footage adhere to ethical standards, including consent and safeguarding guidelines.
- Maintain an organized archive of visual assets and manage metadata for retrieval and use.
- Work closely with Communications and Program teams to align visuals with key messaging strategies.
- Assist in producing content for donor reporting, newsletters, awareness campaigns, and events.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in photojournalism, documentary video production, or multimedia storytelling.
- Proficient in camera operation (DSLR/mirrorless), lighting, and audio recording equipment.
- Skilled in post-production software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop.
- Strong narrative instinct with a keen eye for storytelling through visual elements.
- Willingness to travel to rural and remote project areas on assignment.
- Knowledge of ethical visual journalism practices, particularly in humanitarian contexts.
- Fluency in Bangla and working proficiency in English.
