Mission and Vision Statements
Platform-Bangladesh is committed to empowering individuals and communities by addressing critical challenges in education, environmental sustainability, human rights, and both urban and rural development. The organization recognizes that education is the foundation for personal growth, social mobility, and economic development. Therefore, it actively works :
1. EDUCATION: Ensure access to quality education for all, especially marginalized and underserved populations.
2. ENVIRONMENT: In the area of environmental sustainability, Platform-Bangladesh aims to promote practices that protect natural resources and address the pressing challenges of climate change, ensuring that development efforts do not compromise the environment for future generations.
3. HUMAN RIGHTS: The foundation is also deeply committed to upholding human rights, striving to combat discrimination and injustice by promoting equal rights and opportunities for all citizens, regardless of their background.
4. URBAN AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT: Platform-Bangladesh believes that equitable development must encompass both urban and rural communities. Therefore, it seeks to address the unique challenges faced by each, including infrastructure, healthcare, housing, and economic opportunities, to ensure that no one is left behind.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
Platform-Bangladesh is structured to ensure effective governance, decision-making, and representation across its activities. The organization is composed of three key governing bodies:
The General Assembly: The supreme authority responsible for setting the overall vision, strategy, and governance of the organization.
The Executive Commetee: Tasked with strategic and operational management, the overall vision, strategy, and governance of the organizationensuring the proper functioning and long-term sustainability of the organization.

The Office: Oversees the day-to-day operations, ensuring that decisions of the Board and General Assembly are implemented effectively.

MEMBERSHIP
Members
Platform-Bangladesh offers two categories of membership: Executive Members and General Members. Membership allows individuals and organizations to contribute to Platform-Bangladesh’s mission, which includes promoting education, environmental protection, human rights, and sustainable development.
Executive Members: Eligible institutions (e.g., academic, non-profit organizations, or development agencies) can apply for membership by meeting specific criteria as outlined in Annex 1. (See Platform Bangladesh Charter)
President: The President of Platform-Bangladesh automatically becomes a member upon election by the General Assembly.
General Members: Professionals, experts, and advocates from relevant fields can apply for membership by completing an application form and submitting documentation that proves they meet Minimum criteria, rights and duties related to membership of any Executive Member are set out in Annex 2. Conditions for Membership
President: Automatically a member upon election.
Executive Members:
Must apply in writing and meet eligibility criteria, including inclusive governance, operational experience, and independence.
Composed of at least 7 members, with one-third having operational experience.
Must follow the rules outlined in the Internal Rules.
General Members:
Must apply to the General Assembly or the Board, and have experience in operational projects or specific contributions to Platform-Bangladesh’s mission.
Membership is subject to approval by the General Assembly or the Board. Exceptions to the criteria can be made in rare cases.

As a leader in development and advocacy, Platform Bangladesh continuously innovates to address the unique challenges faced by vulnerable populations. By leveraging technology, data analysis, and international expertise, we enhance the effectiveness and reach of our work.
Key Initiatives Include:
- Tele-education Programs: Providing online learning resources to underserved and remote communities to bridge the education gap.
- Museum in a Container: Promoting accessible cultural and educational experiences through mobile museum setups.
- Environmental Action: Combating harmful practices, such as stopping polythene burning, to promote sustainable environmental conservation.
- Human Rights Advocacy: Collaborating with international organizations to strengthen protections for marginalized groups across Bangladesh.
- Rural Housing: Developing affordable and sustainable housing solutions for rural communities.
- Urban Design: Improving urban infrastructure through initiatives such as creating safe footpaths, defining traffic lanes, and addressing noise pollution.
We also actively advocate for Bangladesh’s inclusion in global dialogues on climate change, health, and human rights, ensuring that our nation’s challenges and solutions are represented on the international stage.
